About this event

Its time for: HFSC's SHAKA SURF FEST!

Join your bleeding disorders family for a day at the beach. Enjoy fun in the sun, sand castles and surfing lessons! Surfing lessons are available for kids ages 5+ for a nominal administrative fee of $5/child and no experience is needed (must know how to swim).

We are partnering up with Aqua Surf again who will provide the wetsuit, surfboard and personal instructor. Surfers CANNOT be late for the lesson which will begin strictly on time. Please do not sign up if you are unsure you will be unable to fulfill the reservation as spaces are limited. Have a bleeding disorder and on prophy? Please take your prophy dose in the morning prior to your surf lesson and bring an extra emergency dose with supplies! We will have coolers at the beach.

Surf Lesson Sessions: $5.00. Registration will be first come, first served.

First Session: 10:00-11:30am

Second Session 12:00-1:30pm.

DON'T FORGET: Please bring an extra dose of factor and supplies in case of injury. HFSC will have a cooler available on site. Surfers must know how to swim and receive prophylactic treatment (if applicable) on the morning of the event. Dr. Doris Quon will be joining us!

Parking $10 in South Lot 5, 2701 Barnard Way, Santa Monica, CA 90405. Then look for the Aqua Surf tents on the beach! Limited space is available, so register today!

THANK YOU TO OUR LUNCH AND SNACK SPONSORS! Brothers Healthcare, CVS, Optum and Guided Alliance!

Bring your blanket and some sunscreen, and enjoy a day at the beach! Due to Covid, we strongly urge that those who attend be vaccinated (if eligible). We will supply face masks and have a covid questionnaire and temperature checks. HFSC reserves the right to exclude any person from the event.
